What is it, and how is Acid Staining applied?
We address any problems you have with your existing floor, usually cracks or chips. We then apply a new layer of cement, around one eight to one quarter inch. The application can be applied in any texture you desire from very rough to extremely smooth. The majority of customers pick somewhere in between. You then pick the color and we apply. The final application is two coats of high gloss or matted finish.
How long does the Acid Staining take from start to finish?
Most floors take around four to five days to apply Acid Staining with basic preperation and a couple of days to cure.
What Acid Staining colors are available?
We provide sample boards with most common colors, consult with contractor.
How is Acid Staining maintained?
Just clean as you would any tile like floor using a damp mop or vacuum. Acid Staining requires minimal maintenance
Will my new Acid Stained floor crack?
In some cases concrete floors will re-crack. There is no set rule of thumb as to what causes concrete to crack other than the nature of concrete. Usual reasons are settling or moisture returning through existing cracks. There are many ways to minimize cracks from reoccurring. Contractor should perform crack repair on the floor before Acid Staining is applied. In general cracks that are repaired by contractor can not be included in a warranty.
Is it safe for Pets?
Yes, pets can safely enjoy the new floor.
Will floor be slippery?
f proper non skid additives are used in the sealer which we add, the floor should not be slippery. It is less slippery than tile floors and has a coating that provides a safer finish.
